PRESIDENTS REPORT FOR YEAR ENDING JUNE 2007

The Presidents Report addresses areas of membership, administration,
public relations and charity. Each sports Chairman will briefly describe the year's
activities of their section

1. Membership
I can report to you that the Pattaya Sports Club is financially strong and continues to sign up new members every month - you can see the details in the Treasurer's Report .

2. Charity
This fiscal year, 2.6 million baht was given to various charity organisations in and around Pattaya - the full list is detailed in Bernie's Charity Report. A major program is our Scholarship Program which was agreed to be expanded at last years AGM to give 3 extra years education to selected children already in the system. It was startred by our Charity Chairman, Bernie Tuppin, and is administered by the YWCA . The program will assure the financial assistance through the secondary phase of these childrens education, assuming they adhere to the rules of the program. I totally enjoyed joining Bernie and the ladies from the YWCA when we presented the cheques to support the Scholarship Program this year.

In the area of Charity, the Executive Committee needs help. We need a capable assistant to help Bernie and to get to know the people he works with in this field. This will be a major point for the EC to concentrate on and if any of you are capable, and willing to help, please speak to Bernie or any other member of the EC.

3.Administration
We were unable to claim, from our insurers, for the subsidance alongside the clubhouse caused by water and we are awaiting quotes to take remedial action

4. Social Chairman
Doug Powell has continued his success of the two yearly parties as well as the presentation dinner after the Club Championship. My thanks to Doug for taking care of all the details and making sure everyone had a good time.

5. Golf
Golf have had another successful year and we all need to thank Tony Oakes for taking over the position of Golf Chairman and making the Golf tournaments and the Charity Classic so successful. Many thanks also to the members of his golf committee for all the work they put in to assist him.

6.Public Relations
My thanks to Wayne Koch who, with the help of Richard Herbert, has built a new and much better looking website - this has certainly improved our image to people looking at us from the outside and it has helped our members, in Pattaya and abroad, to get the current information they are looking for.

7. Executive Committee
I would like to thank the current members of the EC for their cooperation after the resignation of our President Gerry Carpenter late last year. As most of you are aware. Gerry's health is failing and I hope each of you will remember him in your prayers.

I would like to thank Bjarne Nielsen and Fred Hornung for their input and their control of the membership cards.
I would like to add further thanks to Bjarne for the time and work he has put into the charity work he carries out for us at Plutaluang every month.

I owe special thanks to Max Matthews and Ron Herbert, our Secretary and Treasurer . They hold the day in and day out activities together and get the necessary things done quietly and efficiently.

8.Summary
This has been another good year for the club in both membership and revenue. Many members express the view that our excess funds should be put to better use - the EC recognise this and are willing to listen to any new ideas.

Other sports, whilst not highlighted, continue to perform well - such as darts, softball, ten-pin bowling and fishing - I thank their respective chairmen for their efforts. We have recently had several enquiries about racquet sports and if anyone is interested in organising this activity the EC will give them their full support.

An area of concern for the EC is the 'Discount' Program. I have asked the EC to move the responsibilty of this program to the Vice President's desk.
The new Vice President will need a team of volunteers to visit the establishments listed in the program to confirm they want to contiue to be part of the program and will continue to give our members the discount that they have contracted to give them. This could be a fun thing to do and a big help to the PSC.

Again, I would like to encourage any of you interested in serving on any
of the committees to speak to one of the EC members.

PSC President ( under Article 16)
