CAMILIAN CENTRE AIDS HOSPICE

Known to many this establishment in the Rayong area has been taking care of some of our communities more unfortunate for many years. Headed by Father Giovanni it has grown over the years and continues to expand with the addition of a new facility named The Garden of Eden. Pattaya Sports Club is proud to have been able to help out almost since the beginning of this much needed institution.

For five years now the PSC have supplied almost all of the bed linen required at the hospice. In more recent times the need has grown and to make our contribution stretch a little further we have had to be innovative. Currently instead of purchasing manufactured goods the Charity Committee travels to the market at Chonburi where fabric is available at a very keen price. After purchase the material is then taken to the Camillian Centre where one or two of the female patients that have sewing skills make up the sheets and pillow cases on their sewing machines.

The people performing this task are paid a little for each unit produced. Not only does this give them a little extra pocket money it has a marvelous effect on their self esteem, being able to help the people who are helping them. Father Giovanni has said that in all round benefits to the hospice this is one of the more valuable contributions that they receive. Pattaya Sports Club also aids the Centre a great deal by lending support and promotion to the many Golf Tournaments that are held for the benefit of the Camillian centre.
