1) THE RULES OF GOLF  apply at all times, supplemented by the following LOCAL rules.

2) LOCAL COURSE RULES:  as laid down by the golf course and posted in the clubhouse or on the  scorecard, except drop zones. (see rule 3 below).

3) Drop Zones will not be used. Please refer to the Rules of Golf as to the correct procedure.

4)Red Ants A player may take relief (at the nearest point, no nearer the hole) if Red Ants interfere with his stance or his intended swing.

5)Staked Trees - Relief must  be taken from STAKED trees without penalty, and  young trees (not bushes) less than 2 meters in height, one club length no nearer the hole.

6) If an either - or situation occurs during a tournament, both options should be played and clarification, and/or ruling, sought after the round. (play 2 balls, one under each option, to finish the hole).

7) CALL HOLES: there shall be no calling up of players or groups during a PSC tournament except at such time as players or members not participating in the tournament request this courtesy.

8) SLOW PLAY: If a group loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, they must allow the following group to play through.

9)Dress code: Players should be properly attired both during play and in the clubhouse in a shirt with sleeves and collar, and tailored trousers or shorts. Metal spikes are not allowed on most golf courses and proper golf shoes should be worn.

 

10) PROVISIONAL BALL: If in doubt you should play a provisional ball in the interest of saving time, but never if all players agree that the ball is in a hazard.

 

11) Plugged Balls: You may lift clean and place through the green.

 

12) When buggies are not allowed on fairways and wet conditions prevail. A player may lift clean and  place his ball.

 

13) Tournament organizer has the right to impose additional rules on the day, such as winter rules should the golf course conditions dictate this.

 

14) Flowerbeds - All landscape flowering beds are played as ground under repair.

 

15) Water Damage - Washed out areas and damage caused by excessive drainage of water are to be treated as Ground Under Repair. The ball may be dropped at the nearest point of relief without penalty.

 

16)Unmarked Hazard - Unmarked or insufficiently marked hazards shall have the outer edge of the hazard defined at the point where the ground breaks down to form the depression. If the hazard is completely unmarked it should be treated as a Lateral Water Hazard.

 

17) Stones in Bunkers are moveable obstructions (Rule 24.1 applies)

 

 

 

18) Measuring Devices - In all competitions a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if , during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to guage or measure other conditions that might affect his play( e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the openalty is disqualification, regardless of wether any such additional functions are actually used.  
   
19) Concrete Ditches - A player may take relief (1 club length no nearer the hole) when the ball lies in a concrete ditch not marked as a hazard or a lateral water hazard.
