Playing a Stableford competition the fast sloping greens caught a lot of players out but PJ Redmond didn't have too much trouble as he came into the clubhouse a winner with a very credible 37 points

The clouds were gathering and the day was hot. With humidity nearing 100%, it must have been one of the worst days for golf. The old timers walked the course!! It was Tully's 80th birthday and he looked it at the end of the day as he and Paul Kraft walked the 18 holes.

Playing Medal at Pattana Golf and Sports Resort on Brookei and Calypso courses it certainly separated the men from the boys.
With the cut at handicap 15 we saw a big difference in class between the two flights where in the A Flight Paul Smith had a fine round to win with a two under par net 70,

A & B off the blues for the third week in a row and the Outbackers are getting too used to this course, no less than seven of them playing to their handicap or better. Highest score of the day went to Bruce Milner with 40 points from Dave Porter off his new 13, soon to be 12, handicap on 39.

St Andrews ( Stableford) Good thing about This time of year it is the special 'Sports Day Rates' that come along. Most of the Courses have a special on, and as we play on a Tuesday we usually take advantage of the Tuesday Sports Day.

Bob Benda was on a rampage as he dominated the field. Bob turned the corner with 21 points in hand and kept going. He finished with a birdie on the 18th to cap off his day with 41 points. Bob's driving and putts were spot on. He is now waiting for the axe to fall to see whether he will be cut at knees or at the ankle.

51 golfers played today, the usual Outbacker numbers swelled by the visiting MBMG Pattaya Matchplay Golf League team from 'The Golf Club'. Burapha was very quiet and were able to split the tee, 7 groups off the C nine & six groups off of D.

Well, Sus did it again. He is running hot and with the greens perforated it wasn't easy. Sus came in with 37 points followed closely by Dale Murphy who came in with 36. The greens on the front were a little better than last week and hopfully they will be ready by next week.

Phoenix ( Stableford) It looks like the good times are here, and on this day we took advantage by playing Phoenix on their Tuesday Special Green Fee of 700 Baht, and a large Heineken at 100 Baht. The day was fine if a little windy when we started, and the test for the day was to be The Mountain and The Ocean Nines, my own personal favourite.

Treasure Hill (Stableford) The Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club was Host to a Stableford Competition in one Flight. We delayed on the first Tee for about 20 minutes due to a brief shower, but the day turned out very nice, with a light breeze all day.

Friday The 21st March 2008: Eastern Star. The Charity Classic provides the largest single influx of Charity Funds of the Year, and for Months in advance the Golf Chairman and his Committee beaver away to twist arms and find volunteers to give generously. This is usually not really difficult as all who live here realise how important the amount we give is to some poor soul. The harder the Committee work the more they provide, and although in the present financial climate the situation this year has been daunting, still at least a Half Million Baht was raised. This money along with our normal Charity works will be distributed to the poor and needy by our Charity Chairman, Bernie Tuppin.

Bangpra ( Stableford) Bangpra and its Monkeys were the Hosts to a Stableford Competition in one Flight. The Clubhouse is undergoing a complete gutting and rebuilding, and is slated to re open in mid July. The presents facilities are in the old Hotel, and are adequate for a small group, as most are at present.
