Bangpakong ( Stableford) Just another of those long drives to another of those great Golf Courses. The good thing these days is that the roads are so improved that we can now get there very quickly.
On this day the Course was very quiet so we could get off quickly, and this is not normal for this Course as we usually have a long wait at the starting gate. Once started the wind was the major factor, and on a long Course such as this it was a real annoyance, still with grassy fairways and good greens it was a pleasure to play.
The drive back was as quick as the drive up and we were back in Tropical Bert's for 1730 hrs. This is a major improvement over the last two times we went to this Course and ended up driving back in the dark.
The scores were pretty good for such a long Course with a strong wind. In the A Flight, 0 to 15, the winner was Brian Downey with a fine 40 points ahead of Tom Hetherington in second on countback. In third was that fine golfer, and winner, Steve Hamstad with 38 points.
In the B Flight the Winner was Tom Cotton who shot 40 points, but a mention must be made of the 4 Birdies he shot, most ever for him. In second was Colin Cronin with 36 points with Brian Gabe in third with 34 points. T.T.F.N.
