Saturday The 1st March 2008

This has not been a good Year so far for the intrepid Fisherman. Quite why I cannot work out, although those who are 'wiser' reckon it is the weather.

What more can one say, the Sea on this day was absolutely superb as we motored out to the fishing area, as was the weather.

Saturday The 17th November 2007

As the Year moves on the temperature drops and the Weather becomes what it is now, windy. The lower temperatures tend to cool the surface water driving the fish deeper and quite often away from the coast into deeper waters.

Been cold and windy of late, has it not?, well that is the reason the Captain thought it better to remove the boat down to Saddahip where the harbor is more enclosed.

This is a fine time of the year to be messing around in a boat. The weather at Sea is fine, despite the fact you can see major storms on land, and the Sea is calm and the waves gentle

This is usually a good time of the Year for Fishing. That does not mean that the fish are jumping into the boat, but Historically we do well.

Saturday The 22nd September 2007

There are actually people who don't like trying to catch big fish. These are split into a couple of sections, those who like catching small fish, usual because the Thai Lady prefers them, and those who don't like sleeping on a boat.

You can actually get withdrawal symptoms from lack of Fishing, or so it seems. The last month the phone has been red hot as the 'Regulars' wanted to know when the next trip was. Oh, forgot to mention, both the scribe and the boat were in 'Dock".

Saturday The 21st July 2007

On Friday Night as I looked at the Sea, the wind freshened and the rain blasted in from the Sea. The first worries settled in, would it continue until tomorrow, as we were going fishing, I hoped.

Saturday The 2nd June 2007

The weather has been a bit variable of late out at Sea, and at this time of the year, for various resons, it is not the best time for filling up the boat with big fish, but there has been a lot of the smaller variety of late, and this has been to the plus side as the 'Ladies' love them.

The weather continues to be unsettled out at Sea. On this
morning as we approached Bang Sarae the water was practically without a ripple, so we
set out in calm water.

Saturday The 28th April 2007

The fishing has not been good of late, and the more I go out the more I realise I have no idea what the day will bring. The last few times out the Sea has been fairly good, trip before last we had a tremendous thunderstorm when we had to anchor and take cover, but a couple of hours later it was really nice, with a slight swell and bright weather, but not a bite.

Well, we have not had a fishy story for some time, for some reason the fish have not been jumping into the boat. Mind that is not to say we have not caught fish and the Ladies have not been making their favourite food, just nothing exciting.

Down we went to Sattahip on Saturday morning full of hope, as not only had the Sea looked really calm in Pattaya, but the happy fishermen who went out on Thursday caught a large Cobia and three Queen Fish to fill their pans.

I always look forward to this day, a day the 'Lads' get together, zip down to Saddahip, and spend the day on the Sea, with me gently being rocked to sleep in my deck chair. I can watch the 'Big Rods' from here. O yes, some of the lads actually fish all day.

Friday is usually my day, off after the Golf of the week and recharges my batteries for the Fishing on Saturday. So it was with some interest, that when my Wife phoned me at 1045am to say they already had 4 big fish in the boat, I thought maybe I had picked the wrong day.

Saturday The 20th January 2007

We had a new fisherman on the boat, young Irishman called Bobby who has just spent 18 Months in Australia, and is here for a few months on his trip around the World. Soon to go home he had tried the twenty people on a boat way, and really wanted to catch a fish bigger than three inches, so why not join us.

P.S.C. Fishing From Tropical Bert's
Saturday The 13th January 2007

Most real fishermen who go out fishing, really do not go out to catch fish. Now the Fairy Story is out of the way, Saturday was a really great day out on the water.
Early in the morning the Sea as we left port was as calm as a millpond, with just a hint of breeze, and by the time we got to the fishing ground the breeze had risen a little and the day was as perfect as it gets.
