P.S.C. Fishing From Tropical Bert's
Saturday The 17th November 2007

As the Year moves on the temperature drops and the Weather becomes what it is now, windy. The lower temperatures tend to cool the surface water driving the fish deeper and quite often away from the coast into deeper waters. This time of year the fishing can be anything.
Now that is the theory, Me?, I just like going fishing and if by any chance the lines scream out and we are lucky, so be it, if not I come back after just another day in Paradise.
On this day as we left Saddahip, all was perfect. There was a slight wind but the Sea was reasonably calm, and as we stopped on the way for a few Padang the tide was slack. So a top up with bait fish and out to the 'Big Fish' area. It was not long before the big rods were out and with not much around in the small fish area it was down to some serious looking at the inside of my eyelids..The swell was perfect, but the fish did not come.
Into the afternoon and still no big fish, the idea occurred to me that perhaps it was one of those days and I considered moving to another spot. As the other boats around started to depart I became more sure a move was imminent, but let us give it a bit longer. Russ was sitting by the big rods as he was leaving the next day and really wanted something.
Then two lines zipped out at the same time, and Russ was on one and Sean from Grimsby was on the other. I would like to say they both brought their fish in expertly, but as fish do, they both went the way they should not go, and soon we were moving rods over one another as we desperately tried to sort out the lines. Suffice to say, with great expertise it was done and both fish were soon on board. Yes we have a capable Captain.
With 'Supper' assured we could relax and moved to an area where we could fill up on the smaller fish. The different types of fish we caught were many, however they will all end up in the same place, the 'Pot'
With the wind now rising we moved back into Saddahip after a fine day. T.T.F.N.
