P.S.C. Fishing From Tropical Bert's
Saturday The 10th November 2007
|
Been cold and windy of late, has it not?, well that is the reason the Captain thought it better to remove the boat down to Saddahip where the harbor is more enclosed.
If you have never seen the pier there it is worth a visit to see, so you can wonder how it ever holds together. Indeed a walk along it is an exercise in walking on the board that is safe. It is a pier of character.
I digress however as on this morning we had 4 new people on the boat, along with the reinstated single handicap fisherman Chris. Two of them were 'Brits',Jim and Ian, and one American, Gerry, and one Canadian, Russ. A strange mixture that gelled well.
Yes it was windy, yes it was cold, but early on it was actually quite pleasant, or at least the Canadian said so. In fact the day started well and as it progressed the wind rose and the waves increased. It got chilly.
Oh the Fishing, well we had one nice Cobia and a Carvella, the photo of which did not come out, before we decided to fill the bags with more modest fish and let all spend a couple of hours working for a bite to eat. So off we went to the "nice small fish area' and proceeded to fill the bag up with dozens and dozens of small fish. The Ladies do like small fish to half a Kilo, they are supposed to be much tastier, and who are we to argue with the master sex.
With the bags full, and all sure to be well received at home, we chugged back to Harbor and an encounter with that pier. T.T.F.N.
