SCHOOL RENOVATIONS AT BAAN THUN KLOM
Pattaya Sports Club recently carried out a renovation program at this School. When the School was first visited it was obvious that urgent attention was needed in the kitchen and canteen area, the prevailing conditions were plainly unhygienic. While this area was a priority there were other concerns, some classrooms were lacking desks and others had rough concrete floors, not the best environment for young students. PSC Charity decided to make this one of their major projects for the year.
Consultation with the schools director and other interested parties was held and a plan devised. PSC would be responsible for the supply of all materials to facilitate the upgrade, a local furniture manufacturer would supply kitchen cupboards another would supply desks and chairs at discounted rate the local community would supply labor, a generous club member donated B20,000 and the school’s meager budget was tapped to provide new utensils and other kitchen equipment.
As a result of this combined effort the school now boasts a kitchen and canteen area to be proud of. In addition three classrooms have new ceramic floors, another large room has been completely tiled and prepared to house a future computer classroom not to mention the new desks and chairs. Pattaya Sports Club contributed 500 sq. meters of ceramics all of the cement, adhesive and trim required plus a good deal of the classroom furniture. Many hours of planning and bargaining went into this project but as you can see from the accompanying pics the result was outstanding. The value obtained from an outlay of B150,000 was nothing short of amazing.
