This school on Sukhumvit in the Utapoa area had a real problem. They have 165 students 9 teachers and only three toilets. With one toilet dedicated to staff use this meant only one toilet for boys and one for girls not a satisfactory situation

A Day out with the Disabled |
Friday 10th of August started out ordinarily a few mundane chores then relax feet up good book etc, which was the plan until the phone rang. An hour later I am at Suttiwat School along with the YWCA ladies, members of the Volunteer Police, many people in Mattel T-Shirts officials of the Special Olympics Asia Pacific and other people in track suits carrying walkie -talkies and clipboards. The occasion was part of the Special Olympics Programme and six regional institutions were represented, they were from Chachongsao, Samat Prakhan, Bang Pakong, two from Rayong and Garunyawet [Pattaya].

One of the most hard working and prolific fund raising group in our community must surely be The Jesters Motor cycle Club. Each year their efforts centered around the Children’s Fair Pub Night and other activities raise several million Baht.

Takraw team sponsored by PSC |
Pattaya Sports Clubs charter is to promote sport and support local charities,so the decision to sponsor a school team in a district competition fits nicely in that area. Pattaya District’s schools are conducting a Takraw tournament beginning in August that will involve teams of both boys and girls in four different age groups.

City Hall Award goes to PSC Charity Chairman

On June 7th Pattaya City administrators recognized the contribution of local community service groups to the needy and under privileged in our area. It is the first occasion that such recognition has been displayed publicly and it is significant that Pattaya Sports Club was amongst the first group to be considered as worthy.

For the newer members that have not played golf from the Kronberg Café, ridden a Harley with the Jesters or tried to get into a PSC party without a ticket then they would not recognize Bjarne Nielsen.

Sports Gear for School Carnival

An Interschool Sports Carnival held at the grounds of Wat Suttiwan School recently, was a huge success with over 30 local schools participating in many disciplines. The competitors in 4 different age groups numbered in the hundreds and events were spread over four days.

PSC Helping out at Local Youth Center

The Crossings is a drop in centre for troubled youth located behind Big C in the old Duck Square complex. Established by Manna House Missions they currently have facilities for Basketball, Table Tennis, and Skateboarding and were keen to establish basic Gym facilities.
