PSC Lawn Bowling

The Pattaya Sports Club recently expanded its coverage of local sport to include Lawn Bowling. The game while little known in Thailand is hugely popular in the U.K., Australia, and many other countries, so should have wide appeal amongst local expats and to visitors coming to Thailand for holiday.  Negotiations with the management of the Bowling Green have resulted in generous discounts being made available to PSC members to enjoy the game.  If you are attending the club for the first time your first bowling session is FREE. Normal Charge at other times per session - bht150 per person.

Starter tuition is also available for those who want to try bowls for the first time (by telephone arrangement)  The bowling green is fully floodlit in the evenings allowing play late into the nightAnnual Membership is available @ bht12.000 (inc Free Club Shirt)  If you are already a member of the "Pattaya Sports Club" annual membership only bht10.800  There are numerous opportunities for PSC members to participate at a social level and enjoy the fun and fellowship offered at the Bowling Green. Pattaya Sports Club members are invited to visit the Bowling Green at any time to inspect the venue and enquire about playing opportunities.  This is a great opportunity for savings for PSC members to enjoy the time honored sport of lawn bowls and we hope to see you all at the Bowling Green for a roll-up, or to just sit and watch.

Telephone - 038 720741 Fax - 038 720742 The "Bowling Green" Pattaya, Thailand was opened in late 1999 by three English men who wanted to build a club for ex-pats where they could go and relax away from all the bright lights of Pattaya's many bars and nightclubs and entertainment complexes. Due to the amount of people retiring in Pattaya being on the increase year by year, it was decided to build the club from scratch on some spare land big enough to accommodate a full size international lawn bowling green. Since that time the area around the green has boomed and hotels and shops have been built all round, leaving the Bowling green to be an oasis in the centre of a large city. The ownership of the club changed hands in Nov 2005 and under that new ownership the green has undergone a complete reseeding and refurbishment. A new external bar was added and an extension to the kitchens was also made The club offers you the full facilities of any lawn bowls club found throughout the world with all the equipment that you require to play made available. It has full waitress service, full dining and bar facilities, pool table, and darts. Large screen TV (for sport events) and a private meeting room.Internet access is available (bht20 per hour - members free.)

 LEAGUES & COMPETITIONSThe club usually runs two leagues for pairs on Wednesdays and Friday afternoon/evenings Monday is a fun night for beginners with the weekends usually free for the usual grudge matches. A full annual competition calendar is in place. Inter club competitions with the only other bowls club in Thailand at Bangkok are also held annually. International events are also arranged with many other Asian destinations

 GOLF SOCIETY In 2006 a new section for Golf was added to the clubs facilities If any one is interested in golfing with the Bowling Green we play every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We meet at Bowling Green at 7:45 am for breakfast and transportation, and new players are always made to feel welcome. After golf on return to the clubhouse a meal is also made available to all participants.
